Lynton photo gallery

I finally put together a photo website of the piccies we took during our break in Lynton: www.clearbreezedesign.com/lynton.
I optimised the photographs and created some crops for thumbnails. The site is split into four categories: coastal, moorland, woodland and river. This was to emphasise the fact that such diverse landscapes can be found in one area.

The site was built in XHTML and CSS with a little, very basic javascript to perform the image swaps. The mouseover effect with the thumbnails was created by styling the a:hover pseudo class to hide the drop shadow background image and to adjust the padding. This creates an animated effect without drawing on any dhtml. Although a little tricky, it wasn't actually too hard to do and has certainly made me keen to experiment with this further.

I hope people enjoy the snaps!
