Lynton and Lynmouth
Just come back from a brief but lovely trip to Lynton, Nort Devon. I'd stayed at Woolacombe as a child and have memories of the lovely beach there, but haven't visited Lynton before. It was better than I hoped. A really nice mix of landscape. Right at the North tip of Exmoor, you get the atmosphere and ruggedness of the moors, but have the added bonus of being right on the coast. The cliffs drop dramatically to the sea. Goats teater on the edge of rocks above you as you meander along the coastal path. Really beautiful and a photographer's dream.
Lynton and Lynmouth are pleasant towns, perfectly situated for walking. We stayed at St. Vincent Hotel, Lynton, which was perfect for our stay. Its also a small restaurant and the meal we had there was fantastic. The best meal I'd had in ages and very reasonably priced. Well worth booking.
Hope to put together a photo site of our trip so will post a link to that when completed.
